What is an Invitational?

An invitational is a swim meet sponsored by one of our Suburban Aquatic Club teams which is in addition to our dual meet swim schedule. Participation in an invitational swim meet is optional. Swimming in an invitational meet provides the following benefits:

It enables our swimmers to have additional swim meet experience and exposure.
It enables our swimmers to compete against swimmers outside of our division.
It enables our swimmers to swim against swimmers at their own level, as every race is organized by skill level.
It enables our swimmers to be rewarded for their efforts through a system of medals and ribbons, designed to reward swimmers of all levels.

USA Swimming Registration

Any athlete participating in a USA swim meet must be registered with USA swimming ($60). Each athlete must complete a 2011 Althlete Registration Application available below. Completed applications and fees must be given to Dana Hazard or Jason Caplan no later than September 30, 2010, in order to participate in the first USA meet. MAC will be sending one of our coaches to each

For each of these selected meets, MAC will be sending one of our coaches with the participating athletes. (minimum of 3 swimmers for a coach to attend the meet)

Fees

USA Swimming Membership: $60.00 payable to MAC-USA
Coaching fee for the winter season: $100.00 per athlete payable to MAC-USA
Coaching fee for the winter season for a second and subsequent members of the same family: $75.00 per athlete payable to MAC-USA
Like invitational meets, USA meets do have a cost-per-event fee for each event entered (typically $4 - $5 per event). These fees are due to MAC-USA with each meet entry form.
Travel meets: additional cost
All fees listed are structured for MAC members only. Non-MAC members may have additional fees.

**Please note: The MAC USA Swimming Fee ($100/athlete) is an estimate - the actual coaching costs will depend on how many swimmers attend, how many sessions the swimmers are participating in there are morning sessions and afternoon sessions-depending on your gender/age group). If the coaching costs are more than these fees collected, each swimmer will be asked to reimburse an additional amount, regardless of how many meets they participate in.
