There has been a time change for the boys' swim meet vs. Hatboro Horsham on January 14. Warm-up is at 1:45 PM. Please arrive by 1:30 PM. There is a diving meet just prior to the boys' meet. You may need to wait in the hall if the diving is running behind. The boys' warm-ups will begin promptly when the diving ends.

During the boys meet this past Saturday against Radnor, Leon Lin broke the MAC record for the 100 Backstroke! He had a time of 59.57, beating the old record of 59.90 set back in 1987!

· If a bathing suit/cap or apparel was ordered and paid for at registration, there is no need to fill out the form
· All forms for bathing suits/caps must be returned by September 30. This is after the 2-week trial is concluded. Orders for bathing suits and caps cannot be accepted after September 30.
· Orders for apparel will be filled on a first come first come basis so order early! Some apparel will be for sale during some home meets, but size selection may be limited.

We are excited to announce the Methacton Aquatic Club 2011-12 registration information (view flyer)!
RegistrationRegistration will take place on Monday, September 12 and Tuesday, September 13 from 5:30 to 7:30pm in the Methacton High School cafeteria. Fees will remain the same as last year. Parents, please bring your calendars because you will be signing up for your volunteer meet schedule as part of the registration process.
If your swimmer is undecided about joining the team this year, why not try our Two Week Trial? The $30 fee can then be applied to a full membership! We can also work with you if you require alternative payment options.
There is no residency requirement to join MAC. In general, it is recommended that all swimmers be able to swim at least one lap in the pool.
New registration forms are now available: Registration Forms and MAC Acknowledgement Form. For additional forms and information, please view the MAC Documents and Forms page.
Team Suits
Jane Konkoly will be at registration both nights and will have team suits for swimmers/ divers to try on and order.

There will be a program run through Community Education using our MAC coaches for summer swim training. Specifically, this program, headed by Dana Hazard, will operate Monday through Thursday from June 27, 2011 through July 28, 2011. For our high school swimmers and our more advanced Aquatic Club Swimmers (juniors and seniors), the practice times will run from 7:00 am until 9:00 am. For our intermediate swimmers (those who can swim but wish to work on their stroke technique – minis, barracudas, and sharks), practice will run from 9:00 am until 10:00 am. In the past, many of our older aquatic club swimmers have practiced with Coach Dana, but have also competed in a summer swimming league, which is permitted by most summer swim clubs. The early practice will cost $175. The later practice will cost $150. When an enrollment form is available, Coach Dana will send an email with the registration information. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Coach Dana. The minimum age for participation in the later session is 7 years old.

We have two big meets remaining. These meets are for the individual swimmer, not the team.
A Champ - Girls Feb 5th & Boys Feb 6th at LaSalle University
A Champs is for kids with the top 18 times in each individual event per age group.
A Champ Relays will be determined by the Coaches. The swimmers in these relays will be notified. Relays are determined by fastest times and overall work ethic.
The top relay per age group will attend A Champs.
We will not be sending an 8&Under relay to A Champs. All 8&Unders will attend B Champs.
B Champs - Girls Jan 29th at Radnor & Boys Jan 29th at PV
B Champs are all remaining swimmers who would like to compete as an individual.
B Champs Relay - we will have as many relays allowed per age group. (the coaches will determine who will swim in these relays)
All Swimmers are allowed a combined 3 individual events and 2 relays. This can be a combination of A & B Champs.

Tuesday nights are the Board meeting nights at the high school. The Board meets in the LGI at the high school. Parking can be a challenge. Per Janeen Marzewski, Coordinator of District Services, parents should park in the East Wing Parking Lot or the Main Parking Lot. 1. February 7, 2011 through March 10, 2011 (Swimming)
There will a a Competitive Edge Swim Program that begins February 7, 2011 and continues through March 10, 2011. This is a five week program that is similar to our Extended Swim from last year. The program will assist ALL levels of swimmers and will provide ALL levels of instruction from the most basic skills for our youngest swimmers (as young as 5 years old) who cannot yet swim a lap but hope to in order to compete next year all the way up to endurance training for our USS swimmers. The registration form will need to be completed and submitted to Methacton School District community education. This program will be run by Coach Dana and many of her assistant coaches.

MAC will conduct its yearly spring clinic which will begin on March 21, 2011 and continue through April 28, 2011. The diving clinic (4 weeks – exact start date and times to be provided) is designed to assist participants in learning and executing the fundamentals of dives, including body form, dive entry, and approach. The flyer and registration form for the spring clinic can be found on the MAC Documents page. This program is run through the Methacton Aquatic Club and registrations form will be mailed to Cheryl Sattin (details noted on flyer). This program will be run by Coach Dana and her assistant coaches.
3. May 2, 2011 through June 3, 2011 (Swimming)
There will be a second session of the Competitive Edge program beginning May 2, 2011 and continuing through June 3, 2011. This is an excellent opportunity to get some pre-season competition. Medals and ribbons will be awarded at this meet. There will be special hot heats as well. For our first year members, this is an optional swimming meet. The fees assessed are collected by the swimming club hosting the invitational.

The first Parents' Meeting has been scheduled for Monday, September 20th at 7pm in the LGI room, near the pool in the high school. The mock diving meet will take place on Tuesday, October 19 in the evening.
The mock swim meet for both the boys' and girls' teams will take place on Saturday, October 23 at 1:30pm.
These time trials allow swimmers to set base times for their upcoming season, while parents learn how to fill the various roles needed to run a sucessful swim meet.

We are excited to announce the Methacton Aquatic Club 2010-11 registration and practice information!
Registration will take place on Monday, September 13 and Tuesday, September 14 from 5:30 to 7:30pm in the Methacton High School cafeteria. A reminder to parents to please bring your calendars because you will be signing up for your volunteer meet schedule as part of the registration process.
If your swimmer is undecided about joining the team this year, why not try our Two Week Trial? The $30 fee can then be applied to a full membership! We can also work with you if you require alternative payment options.
There is no residency requirement to join MAC. In general, it is recommended that all swimmers be able to swim at least one lap in the pool.
New registration forms are now available: Registration Forms (DOC, 150K) and MAC Acknowledgement Form (DOC, 35K). For additional forms and information, please view the MAC Documents and Forms page.
Caps and suits will be the same style and color as what the team wore last year.
SUNRISE Promotions will be at registration both Monday and Tuesday with team suits available for try-on. Company representative Jane Konkoly will be taking orders for silicone caps with MAC and the athlete's name on them. She will also have available hooded sweatshirts, plaid pants and black sweatpants with the same design as last year. New this year are wicking T-shirts, forest green with the MAC logo. Cash and checks will be accepted for all sales.
Toad Hollow Athletics will be at registration on Tuesday only with an assortment of practice suits, goggles, etc. for sale.
Swim practices begins on Tuesday, September 14 and are posted on the Swim Practice Schedule page.

The dates have now been finalized for the Methacton Aquatic Club's Spring Clinic! If you have not yet registered, please contact us at methactonaquaticclub@gmail.com and we can still make arrangements for your swimmers and divers.
As a result of the on-going negotiations, we will not have adequate time to deliver flyers to the elementary schools for distribution to advertise our programs. The success of our club depends upon on-going recruitment - if you know someone who may be interested in our club - please let them know about our Clinic!

SWIMMERS
The Spring Clinic will take place from Monday, March 15 through Friday, April 23 subject to school closings. Practices will take place from 5:30-6:30 and 6:30-7:30. Assessments for new swimmers will be completed upon arrival, with placement of swimmers into one of the two groups based on numbers and ability, at the coaches’ discretion.
This clinic is designed for competitive swimmers seeking to fine tune their technique. Swimmers must be able to swim one length if 8 years or under, 2 lengths if 9 years through 12 years, and 4 lengths if 13 years or older.
DIVERS
For Divers, we have good news. Your clinic will go as planned: It is a four week session taking place on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 5pm until 7pm as follows: 3/8-3/11, 3/15-3/18, 3/29-3/30, and 4/6 -4/8.

The Methacton Aquatic Club will be conducting its annual Spring Clinic. Registration is set for this Wednesday between 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm. Registration will take place either outside of the pool area, or in the balcony. HOWEVER, there are potential date changes for the SWIMMERS. Please review the information below, and check the website often for up-to-date information.
SWIMMERS
The Board continues to negotiate with the School district in our effort to conduct the Spring Clinic from April 6 through May 13. HOWEVER, because we have not yet received confirmation that we can utilize the pool beyond April 16, 2010, we are making emergency arrangements to begin our Spring Clinic on March 15th and concluding April 16th. We will have a final answer for everyone by email no later than Friday March 5, 2010. It is also possible that the School District may allow for pool use for a limited period of time beyond April 16th. If at all possible, the clinic will last 6 weeks.
DIVERS

Sessions will take place Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, on the following dates: 3/8-3/11; 3/15-3/18; 3/22-3/25; 3/29-3/30; 4/6-4/8.
Clinic will be taught by a long-time MAC diving coach.
The diving clinic is organized to present the skill, elements and basic fundamentals, in the order the diver should use them: body alignment, board work, and takeoff; initiating rotation for basic dives; and dive entries.
Sessions will take place Monday through Thursday, commencing April 6th (Tuesday) and concluding May 13th, subject to school closings. Practices will take place from 5:30-6:30pm and 6:30-7:30pm.

We invite MAC swimmers to participate in our extended season which will run from February 8, 2010 through March 10, 2010. Swimmers participating in this program will swim on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with times running from approximately 6:15 pm until 8:15 pm (times to be firmed up and posted on the website). Depending upon the number of participants, extended swim may be divided into more than one session.
This session is open to our MAC members only, and will focus on swim technique. For our USA swimmers, continued practices will occur to prepare them for upcoming USA meets.
The cost for this session is $100 per swimmer which will need to be paid in advance of the session. We ask that parents interested in having their child participate in this session forward a check, payable to MAC, to Cheryl Lebold, Anne Dispaldo, or to Coach Dana. You may utilize any one of our mailboxes as well. We ask that you indicate "extended swim" in the memo section of your check.

This 5-week program is open to children from ages 5 through 9 and is designed to teach the basic elements of freestyle and backstroke in a positive environment with highly skilled aquatics instructors.
Lessons will take place each Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30pm at the high school pool, from February 9th through March 11th, subject to school closings.

Our Team Picture will be taken on Thursday, December 17th @ 7:00pm at the pool. We are asking all swimmers and divers to attend to be in the Team Picture.
Individual pictures will be taken after the team picture on the same night.
Make-up night for Individual pictures will be Tuesday, December 22nd during our Holiday Party from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.
Gene Walsh, a professional photographer for the Norristown Times Herald newspaper, is our MAC Team photographer this season. Gene offers various packages for both Team and Individual pictures. The MHS Swim Team will be having a Chic-Fil-A fundraiser on Tuesday, November 10th from 5pm-8pm. The event will be held at the Trooper Road Chick-Fil-A in the Walmart shopping center, A portion of all dinners sold during the event will go to our MHS team which is looking forward to a very exciting season in the PAC10 League.

There will be several stroke & turn and starter clinics this month. Parents from other schools may attend as well. Following are the dates (from the SAL September meeting minutes):

The instructors should will bring all the info and all interested parents should attend. Once certified, stroke & turn will be your volunteer duty, but you won't work every meet. This is why we need several qualified people.
There will also be a short (15 - 20 minutes) demo in our pool after the classroom portion of the instruction. A volunteer MAC swimmer will be at practice to show legal and illegal strokes that the instructor tells them. It's a lot of fun and really helps the parents to learn what is a legal stroke.

The Methacton Aquatic Club is looking forward to the start of another great swimming and diving season. Registration for both swimming and diving will take place on September 14, 2009 at the Methacton High School Cafeteria from 5:30pm until 7:30 pm. You may also register by mail* prior to September 10, 2009. Please see the attached Registration Flyer for more detailed information, and the Registration Packet for your completion. If you simply cannot register early or appear on September 14, 2009, a board member will be present on the pool deck during the first week of practice.
If your child is new to our club, feel free to take advantage of our two week/$30 introductory period and give us a try. If you decide to commit for the season, the $30 fee will be credited against the registration fee.
